The Cruelty of Quarantine: A Lament

Tim Challies is a blogger, author, and pastor at Grace Fellowship Church in Toronto. On November 3 his son died unexpectedly while attending college in Kentucky. In this emotional lament, Challies reflects on the need and beauty of the church in times of suffering.

"There are times when quarantine is an act of kindness and times when it is an act of cruelty. We don’t know which is true right now. What we do know is that we we are learning through our sorrow just how wondrous it is to be part of something so beautiful, so good, so necessary, as the body of Christ. We are learning how devastating it is to be detached from it in our moment of need."
