Many have tried to defeat death. Only Jesus has achieved it. Jesus died in weakness and seeming powerlessness, but God's power raised Him from the dead. It was all part of God's sovereign plan. Jesus was raised, Son of God in power. That power is now working in our lives. We often don't see it - we know our weaknesses and vulnerabilities. Mark encourages us not to try to live in our own strength, but to trust God to sustain and work in us and through us with His resurrection power so that we can be the people He wants us to be.
