At the beginning of the letter to the Ephesians, Paul prays that the church would know who they are in Christ, what their inheritance is and that their eyes would be opened to all that they have in Christ. Paul did not want to see a church operating out of duty, but out of knowing Jesus and being transformed by Him. Knowing Jesus is the most important thing! Jeremy encourages us to delight in spending time with God, to enjoy getting to know Jesus both by being in the Word, the Bible, and by being filled with the Spirit. Out of this stopping, resting, hearing and growing in Him we will then get up and go, ministering out of a place of knowing Jesus and fueled by the power of the Spirit.
