When the Israel fought against the Amalekites, Moses stood on top of a hill and held his staff up to God. Moses called it the staff of God - a representation of God's covenant promises to Israel. Rich Crosby talks about how this is a picture of prayer. When we pray, do we hold up God's promises to Him? To prevail in prayer we become acquainted with what God has spoken to us, remind God of His promises and trust Him to accomplish what He has promised.
