When Peter and John were arrested in the early days of the church in Acts, they were released and told to stop talking about Jesus. They went back to the church and prayed. Mark talks about prayer as the engine room of the church. As we are on the move and encounter opposition we need to call on God as the early church did. Prayer is where the battles are won and the anvil where God shapes us. There's something powerful in joining together to pray. Mark reminds us of the answers to prayer we have seen already, and encourages us to pray together as we face fresh battles and challenges.
